Phoenix JCB Students Learn Hands On CPR

JCB 9-12 graders recently had the opportunity to learn/be refreshed on 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗣𝗥 and use of an 𝗔𝗘𝗗 to help save someone in cardiac arrest.
Cardiac arrest is when the heart stops -without CPR, one's chance of survival are low -but with Hands Only CPR, we can increase the chances of survival by 2-3 times. The compressions in CPR (𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮, 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵, 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘧 100 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴/𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦) can allow blood to be pumped from the heart to the brain. “Its easy and better than no CPR,” shared Angie Ness, physical education teacher at JCB.
Steps to remember...
• 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝟵𝟭𝟭
• 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗘𝗗 if available
• 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 until first responders arrive
These Firebirds were eager to learn/refresh their knowledge on these life saving procedures. We're proud of their willingness to learn skills that are ultimately designed to serve others and save lives.
