Lockout on September 11, 2013

Today at 12:30PM, the District Office received information from law enforcement about a concern in the surrounding area that prompted the Phoenix CSD to issue a “lockout” for all three buildings as a precaution. A “lockout” is put in place for a low level threat.
During a lockout, access to the buildings is not allowed until the low level threat is determined to be no longer in existence. Students are kept inside the building for safety’s sake.
A “lockdown” is used when there is immediate danger within or directly outside of a building. Today’s emergency procedure was not a lockdown.
It is very helpful when situations such as this occur, if parents keep calls to schools at a minimum. We will keep you informed through our website and through School Messenger as the situation changes.
Safety of our students is our primary concern! Thank you for your assistance!
