Welcome to John C. Birdlebough High School

To the Firebird community,

It is with great excitement and anticipation of the 2016-17 school year that I introduce myself to you as the new principal of John C. Birdlebough High School!  The opportunity to serve as your principal is an honor and a challenge that ignites me.  With 25 years in education and as a member of this proud community, I look forward to building partnerships and strengthening relationships that further our drive to create a learning environment that promotes and fosters excellence.

We want our students to show their fire, to strive for excellence in all phases of their lives, and to leave our doors prepared and confident to be successful in the 21st century.  During the recent months, my family has enjoyed the score from the Tony Award-winning musical, Hamilton, in which one emerging theme is that “history has its eye on you,” therefore suggesting we take the opportunity and “not throw away (our) shot.”  History does have its eye on all of us, and if we take our shot at being the best we can be, the end result will be success in life.

To the students of JCB, the start of a new school year is your opportunity to reconsider what really ignites you, to dream about the possibilities that exist in your future, and to set goals for your path to success.  Together at JCB, we will build and cross bridges that will lead you to reach for the stars and achieve your dreams

Thomas W. Bailer
JCB Principal
