STUDENT AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS
The Board of Education mandates that all students regardless or race, color, creed, sex and national origin, religion, age, economic status, martial status or disability shall be eligible for all awards and scholarships given or disseminated by the school district.
Eligible candidates for academic or other achievement awards will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, school citizenship, and/or co-curricular performance, as applicable to the type of award being given. Recipients of academic awards shall be selected by the School Principal from a list of eligible candidates prepared in consultation with appropriate school staff.
Scholarships to high school graduates will be awarded on the basis of the student's academic achievement, his/her potential for success at an institution of higher learning, financial need, and the student's inability to pursue higher education without the scholarship. The Board of Education shall select the recipient(s) of scholarship(s) awarded by the district from a list furnished by the High School Principal after consultation with appropriate school staff.
