STAFF ORIENTATION TO NEW FACILITIES
The Board of Education recognizes that the completion of a structure does not make it ready for occupancy. The selection of staff, the selection, purchase and installation of furniture and instructional apparatus and materials, the preparation of administrative procedures, such as fire evacuation procedures and the like, all require time. The Board may consider the recommendations of the Superintendent regarding the employment of a Building Principal for a period of months prior to completion of the building, and extra pay for additional days for faculty orientation prior to occupancy by students.
It shall be the duty of the architect and/or his/her engineers to give adequate training and early supervision to the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds and his/her staff in the operation of the mechanical aspects of the new building and in the care and maintenance of the building.
